Minimalist Opal Offerings

Ethiopian Welo Opals are formed over millions of years when silica-rich water seeps into volcanic rock and slowly solidifies. When light passes through these spheres, it bends and diffracts, breaking into a spectrum of vivid colors—reds, greens, blues, and purples—creating the play of color that opals are famous for. Welo opals, found in the volcanic highlands of Ethiopia, are especially prized because they are often crystal-clear to honey-colored and display bright, shifting flashes of color that appear to dance across the stone when moved in the light.
